The IndieWeb
/ 1 min read
I recently learned about the IndieWeb, and I like it a lot:
The IndieWeb is a people-focused alternative to the “corporate web”.
We are a community of independent and personal websites based on the principles of: owning your domain and using it as your primary online identity, publishing on your own site first (optionally elsewhere), and owning your content.
Here are some cool things I’ve found on the IndieWeb:
- Beautiful websites by Cobb and Gridranger.
- A view into what apps people use for various tasks through App Defaults.
- Slash Pages, a guide to common pages you can add to your website.
There’s a lot I can learn from folks on the IndieWeb. I’m looking forward to slowly incorporating their insights into this site.
